春假愉快！時光如梭，學年結業典禮即將來臨。今年的典禮將於6月20日在大禮堂舉行。即時學生們可以表演戲劇，朗誦，歌舞及其他創意節目。 請所有老師和學生協作，一個班出一個節目，或兩個班合作一個節目，每個節目的時間不超過五分鐘，最好三分鐘左右。請各位老師定下節目，組織學生排練，並在5月2日 將節目類型和名稱告知Jeff Lin。 具體節目單將在結業典禮前一周發表。如果有任何問題，請和Jeff Lin jeff@umb.com.tw 聯繫。
We hope you enjoyed your spring recess. Time flies! As spring arrives, our end of school year ceremony is also approaching. The ceremony this year is currently scheduled on 6/20 at school auditorium. Students of each class will have chance to perform their own program on stage. It is a wonderful and special experience for everyone especially parents. The program can be drama, recitation, singing, dancing, or any creative ideas that represent their class character. Teachers please begin to work with their students on devising their program. Each class can choose to perform alone or together with other classes. Each program should last five minutes at most, preferably approximately three minutes. Teacher and students please inform Jeff about the type name of their program by 5/2. The detailed program list will be published one week before the ceremony. • 4/25 - 正常上課日。期中考。第三堂課課外活動。
April 25th will be a regular school day with mid term exam. Extracurricular activities will take place after class.
• 5/2 - 正常上課日。查字典/識字比賽(二年級以上)。第三堂課課外活動。
May 2nd will be a regular school day with dictionary contest for 2nd grade and above. Extracurricular activities will take place after class.
• 5/9 – 母親節快樂。本週不上課。
May 9th is Mother’s day and no school.
教師與學生園地 Teacher & Student Activities:
• 結業典禮將於六月二十日舉行，會場需要志工協助，希望學生和家長儘快踴躍報名。
We are asking for volunteers for end of school year ceremony (6/20) from students and parents. Interested parties please contact Jeff or school staff ASAP.
o 兩名大愛小記者 (7 – 12 歲)。 他/她們將像電視上的新聞主播一樣報導簡短新聞。我們會給學生開設專門的訓練班。
Two young student volunteers (7 – 12 yrs old) are wanted. They will play TV news anchors and report several brief news pieces during the ceremony. We will provide a training workshop for student volunteers.
o 兩名節目主持人 (12 歲以上)。 他/她們將在臺上簡單介紹所有的節目。我們會給學生開設專門的訓練班。
Two program hosts/hostesses (greater than 12 years old) are also wanted. They will introduce all performance and control program flow. A training workshop will also be offered for students volunteers.

One adult volunteer is needed to design CD cover of our 2010 yearbook CD. You have chance to show off your skill and creativity on our yearbook CD cover.

2010 US Education Institution School Supply Drive for Haiti (Tentative Departure Date Scheduled)
感恩大家來信或是電話積極詢問關於出發正確日期, 目前計劃排在五月中下旬(5/15~5/31), 這些日子都可能出發, 還在協調中, 但還不確定, 需與總會海地賑災協調中心給我們正確日期後, 呈報 上人, 最後才能定案. 所以需先做這份人力資源意願調查, 方便先彙報人數給總會海地賑災協調中心, 然後安排, 懇請各校把握因緣, 儘早將表格完成, 於 4/21 (星期三)前回報給總會Debbie (慈薷)師姐彙整。
請大家統一經過學校單位來報名, 不接受個人報名, 請各校校長提報 1~2位(不滿21歲將不考慮), 請報名參加者先不要向公司正式請假, 等 4/21 後會再通知正式日期, 如果貴校沒有人參加, 也請回報, 將把空出的名額留給其他學校, 如果名額超過預計, 也將考慮增辦第二梯次. 無限感恩!
Thanks for everyone inquiring about the departure date. Right now the departure date is tentatively scheduled in the second half of May (5/15-5/31). We may leave any day during this period after the Tzu Chi Haiti Relief Coordination Center complete the arrangement and approval of Master Cheng Yen is granted. Meanwhile, we’d like to conduct a Human Resource Interest Survey to determine the number of people who submit their applications to the Haiti relief Coordination Center. Each school should take the opportunity and complete the form as soon as possible. Please return the form to Debbie of Tzu Chi US headquarter by Wednesday 4/21.
We do not accept individual request. All requests must be made through Tzu Chi schools. Each school principal can submit one or two people (must be over age 21). The participants should not ask for leave from work yet until at least 4/21 or the departure date is finalized. If no one participates from your school, please also send feedback in so that the extra space can be given to the other schools. If there are more volunteers than initially anticipated, a second team may also be considered. Bless!

The folk art group of the Senior Jaycees Club, sponsored by The Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission (OCAC) of the Republic of China, will be visiting the Boston area on 5/9 to celebrate Taiwanese American Heritage Week. There will be eight artists giving demonstrations and workshops for Chinese and Taiwanese traditional arts and crafts. Please see the attached introduction for details.

Life is short and unpredictable, many think nothing but indulge themselves in pursue of fame, wealth, and status. When the inevitable comes, they leave everything they have fought for behind but their sins. The true salvation of our lives is to give and accomplish good deeds.
• 所謂「落地皆兄弟」，人類彼此互為親人，應相互友愛，不要有分別心。
The motto, we all born as brothers/sisters, advise us treat others like our family with respect and love but prejudice.
• 人生來來去去並不重要，最重要的是要將心照顧好；來時盡本分，去時了無遺憾，人生就有價值。
Do not be bothered by those trivial businesses in our lives, instead, pay utmost attention to purify our intent and fulfill our responsibility. Then our life can end with significance but regrets.
• 人生不論長短，都要努力讓這輩子沒有遺憾，無遺憾的人生才有意義。
Regardless of our lifespan, one should strive to make his/her life without regrets. Only a life without regrets is meaningful to us.
• 欲念，如海嘯波濤，讓人心難定。法水，如草尖露珠，讓心地清涼。
Desire or greed, like the tsunami waves, leaves our mind turbulent. On the other hand, Buddhist teachings, like morning dew, give our mind fresh and calm.
• 若能轉變自己的觀念──並把握因緣、放開心情努力做下去，生命就在無形中改變了。
If we can transform our attitude and idea, seize every opportunity to perform good deeds without hesitation, our life will gradually be morphed to the better.
• 因緣稍縱即逝，把握剎那的心念，恆常盡心盡力去做。
Opportunity comes and goes fast; we should seize the moment and do our best for the greater good.
• 感恩人的人，恆被人感恩；愛人的人，恆被人愛。
Whoever appreciates others will be appreciated as well; whoever loves others will be loved back.
