腸胃疾病：嘔吐，腹絞痛以及腹瀉；諾羅病毒是一種常見的腸胃疾病，在這個季節很容易傳染給其他人。　

如何預防？

保持雙手乾淨：勤洗手以及使用消毒液。

Flu season has arrived, BOSTON TIMA (Tzu Chi International Medical Association) suggest you to review the information below in order to protect you and your family from this illness. Please contact your physician and stay home if the following symptoms occur.

o   Influenza- like illness: sore throat, cough, muscle aches with temperature greater than 100.4 F (38^oC).

o   GI illness: vomiting, abdominal cramping, and/or diarrhea; Norovirus is a common GI illness that is easily spread from person to person at this time of the year. 

·        How to prevent from getting sick?

o   Personal hygiene : Wash and sanitize your hands frequently is very important

o   Keep your hands away from your face

·        馬丁路德假日快樂!當馬丁路德說: 「我有一個夢想」言猶在耳的此刻，希望同學們也能夠透過努力學習來圓滿您們的夢。別忘了 !  要努力準備1/27 的期末考喔 !

·        每年的校內、校外演講比賽，最重要的是讓同學們訓練自己的表達能力。因為在日常生活中，能夠清晰、完整地表達想法、理念，是現代人很重要的能力。教務處已商請幾位老師來為三月份的校內演講比賽、四月及五月份的校外演講比賽進行課後輔導。凡是三年級以上，有意願參加輔導的同學都可向班級老師或副教務主任連如蘋 (jplien31@gmail.com) 報名。報名截止日期為1/20，輔導的日期、時間、地點將另行通知，請同學們把握機會、儘早報名 !

·        The purpose of our annual speech contests is to empower students to express their opinions and thoughts.  In our daily life, clearly and accurately communicating thought and idea has been considered a necessary skill.  Office of Academic Affairs has recruited several experienced teachers to provide training session for those students (3^rd grade and above) who wish to improve their public speaking skill after school and to compete in regional speech contests.  Eligible students are encouraged to approach their classroom teacher or the Assistance Dean of Academic Affairs, Lily LIEN (jplien31@gmail.com) for the opportunity.  The application deadline is 1/20; the schedule and location of the session will be announced separately.  Take the opportunity and apply soon !

·         1/27 期末考，教務處提早溫馨的叮嚀: 隨著新的年度的來臨，上學期也即將結束。提醒各位同學在這兩星期當中，靜下心來好好地溫書。所謂「好的開始也要有完美的句點」，希望您能在期末考秀出亮麗的成績，加油!

·        新增設的成人排舞班, 2013年1月13日起開始上課, 人數最少是10名。歡迎對課程有興趣的家長們, 到學校愛心站找馮美霞師姊, 領取報名表格填寫報名。

·        The adult line dance class is scheduled to start from 1/13.  The class will start for the minimum of ten participants.  If interested, please fill out a registration form and sign up with Sister Tina Phung at the cafeteria. 
 

·        本週1月13日10:30AM在學校餐廳，將會有剪紙藝術活動，竭誠歡迎有興趣的家長們來參加。

·        We will have the workshop for the Art of Paper Crafting in the cafeteria at school on 01/13 10:30AM.

全美SAT 中文模擬考試，已開始接受報名。希望有意願參加的同學儘早報名，學校將視情況安排輔導老師。

一、 報名資格: 凡是在美國學校就讀12 年級及以下各年級的學生均可報名參加。考題的內容適合11 歲以上的學生，可接受本校學生及校外學生報名。
二、 報名截止日期: 2013 年1 月31日
三、 考試地點:各地區中文學校均可自設考場  
四、 考試日期：2013 年3 月08 日至3 月10 日

·        賀 ! 本校CSL1翁詠瑩同學和CSL3翁詠康同學踴躍參加2012漢字文化節「中、高年級徵文比賽」活動，雙雙締造佳作成績，全校師生與有榮焉。

·        Congratulations to our students Connie Ong of the CSL1 and Dennis Ong   of the CSL3 class for their excellent work !  They both were awarded honorable mention in the “2012 Chinese Character Festival“, upper class essay competition.  We are all truly proud of their accomplishment !

親子成長班 報名簡章

一、宗旨：

1. 建立親子良好溝通與互動，促進家庭和諧。

2. 加強生活教育，培養慈悲心，促進人格正常發展。

3. 提供一個互動的情境，培養孩子思考及表達的能力。

二、承辦單位：慈濟波士頓聯絡處。

三、參加對象：人文學校學生及家長 ( 至少一位家長陪同參加 )

                           ，或基金會會員。

四、報名時間：即日起至2013年1月31日前，或額滿為止。

五、報名方式：直接在人文學校報名，或向秘書謝蕙如E-Mail :

六、活動地點： 波士頓聯絡處15 Summer Street, Newton, MA 02464。

七、上課時間：每個月第一個星期六下午03:30至06:30  ( 2013年3月起至5月 一 

                           03/02、04/06、05/04 ) 。

八、課程內容：靜思語教學、親子溝通、手語團康、生命教育、、、

                           環保及自然之美…等。

九、制服：請穿著人文學校制服。

十、費用：一期三個月，每個學生收30元 ( 若家庭裡面有兩個小孩以

                   上，則第二、三個小孩以上，每個收15元 )。
