Tzu Chi Boston Service Center will hold its 7th annual free medical clinic and community health day on Saturday 11/13 at North Quincy high school. Numerous local medical establishments will collaborate with Tzu Chi for the wonderful event. If you and your families are interested in becoming as either volunteers or participants, please contact Tzu Chi at (617) 762-0569.

Tzu Chi University will arrive at Boston in early November to participate in the iGem (international Genetically Engineered Machine) competition. In addition to the daily agenda, we will hold a potluck at office on 11/8 from 6:30 - 8:30. Everyone is welcome to join the potluck and say 'hello' to them.

上周有兩位同學在學校跌倒，所幸沒有同學受傷。希望老師與家長們提醒孩子們注意安全。
We had two students fell in school last Sunday. Fortunately, there were no injuries. We strongly urge teachers and parents to remind students about their safety.
學校在上次家長會中曾宣佈考慮更改目前中文教材，新教材已於上週收到，將於本週日十時在餐廳陳列，歡迎家長們參閱並提供學校意見參考。
School announced in last parent/school conference about intention to change current language textbook. The new textbooks have arrived about a week ago and will be available at cafeteria at 10 Am this Sunday for review. School encourages all parents to offer comments and suggestions.

Have you ever felt that it seems harder to interact with your family than with your friends? Or your child appears to be more open to other people’s influences? This seminar will apply discussion and group learning to explore collectively the difficulties in facing family members and ways to produce positive interactions. If you plan to bring decoration items to the party, please put name and grade of your child on the decoration, so that we can return them for their rightful owners after the party.

親愛的家長、老師與同學們 Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:
學期開始至今，希望您的孩子，已經跟著班級接上軌道了。如果仍有必須做調整，請告知教務主任。為鼓勵孩子們於課外學習中文，學校將開始推行背誦樂活動。老師將會向各班級同學們解釋參加辦法，當學生累積完整背誦次數達成一定標準後，學校將發給獎品與獎狀予以嘉勉。請鼓勵您的孩子參與。希望孩子們藉由背誦唐詩宋詞、兒歌、課文、靜思語、以及成語的過程，體會到中國語文之美與學習中文之樂趣。

A month has gone by since the school started in mid September. We hope that your child(ren) has caught up with the usual routine of school life well. If your child(ren) still needs adjustment or has difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact and discuss with our Provost (Sister Vickie).
To encourage children studying Chinese after school, Tzu-Chi Academy will launch “Reciting For Fun”. The teachers will explain the rules to the students in class. Students who have completed recitation of certain number of Chinese literatures will receive award and certificate from School. Please encourage strongly your child(ren) to participate. We hope that the students can learn the beauty, wonder, and fun of Chinese language through the processes of reciting poetry, nursery rhymes, textbooks, or Jing-Si Aphorisms, and idioms.

New England Association of Chinese Schools (NEACS) is sponsoring a 2010 writing competition. 4-6th graders will write based on the pictures and 7-9th graders will write an essay about Taiwan. A month has gone by since the school started in mid September. We hope that your child(ren) has caught up with the usual routine of school life well. If your child(ren) still needs adjustment or has difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact and discuss with our Provost (Sister Vickie).
To encourage children studying Chinese after school, Tzu-Chi Academy will launch “Reciting For Fun”. The teachers will explain the rules to the students in class. Students who have completed recitation of certain number of Chinese literatures will receive award and certificate from School. Please encourage strongly your child(ren) to participate. We hope that the students can learn the beauty, wonder, and fun of Chinese language through the processes of reciting poetry, nursery rhymes, textbooks, or Jing-Si Aphorisms, and idioms.

New England Association of Chinese Schools (NEACS) is sponsoring a 2010 writing competition. 4-6th graders will write based on the pictures and 7-9th graders will write an essay about Taiwan. Not committing crime is our most basic responsibility. However, having a good heart without doing good deeds is also futile.
平時對別人好，不是功夫，發生事情還能對別人好，才是真功夫。
Being able to treat other well under normal circumstances is not difficult. However, it takes real effort when one is able to treat others well in adverse circumstances.
為人處世，爭「志」不要爭「氣」。
In dealing with interpersonal relationship, the key is to focus on our determination and conviction but not our ambition.
人生就像走鋼索般，如果不認真往前看卻一直往後看，一定會跌下去。
Life is like walking on a tight rope. If one does not carefully look ahead but keeps looking backwards, one will surely fall.
