A month has gone by since the school started in mid September. We hope that your child(ren) has caught up with the usual routine of school life well. If your child(ren) still needs adjustment or has difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact and discuss with our Provost (Sister Vickie).
To encourage children studying Chinese after school, Tzu-Chi Academy will launch “Reciting For Fun”. The teachers will explain the rules to the students in class. Students who have completed recitation of certain number of Chinese literatures will receive award and certificate from School. Please encourage strongly your child(ren) to participate. We hope that the students can learn the beauty, wonder, and fun of Chinese language through the processes of reciting poetry, nursery rhymes, textbooks, or Jing-Si Aphorisms, and idioms.

New England Association of Chinese Schools (NEACS) is sponsoring a 2010 writing competition. 4-6th graders will write based on the pictures and 7-9th graders will write an essay about Taiwan. 慈濟園地 Tzu Chi Activities:
• 為敦親睦鄰，佛教慈濟基金會波士頓聯絡處與慈少將於十月二十三日星期六參與今年牛頓市的Hemlock峽谷保留區秋季大清掃 (離會所大約0.2英里)。有興趣的志工們請於早上九時三十分在慈濟會所集合，然後走路到Hamilton Place。有志工服者，請務必穿志工服；沒有志工服者，請穿適合的‘工作服’到會所套上志工背心再出發，人文學校學生請穿學校制服參加。

Tzu Chi Boston Service Center and Tzu Shao will participate in the 2010 Fall Cleanup of Hemlock Gorge Reservation in City of Newton (approximately 0.2 mile from service center) on Saturday 10/23. Interested volunteers please report to Service Center by 9:30 AM.

Tzu Chi Boston Service Center will hold its 7th annual free medical clinic and community health day on Saturday 11/13 at North Quincy high school. Numerous local medical establishments will collaborate with Tzu Chi for the wonderful event. 家長園地 Parents Activities:
• 免費成人瑜伽課將於本週末(十月十七日)九時四十五分正式開班，歡迎參加者視能力贊助學校基金。愛好瑜伽者記得要準備柔軟衣物及瑜伽用品喔。
Adult Yoga class will start this week 9:45am. The class is free and donations to help school are greatly appreciated. Suggested donation is $5 per lesson per person. Remember bring your comfortable clothing and yoga mat for the class.
