每班 (各年級自行比賽) 選出前三名及一位優等獎， 班上超過十人者則加選二位優等獎
比賽時各班將有主持人、計時員、評審員 (由學校校務人員、家長、老師擔任).
The annual speech/story telling/reading competitions will be held on 2/27/11 beginning 11:30 AM as follows.
K1, K2, and K3 at K3 classroom
1st grade, 2nd grade, and bilingual at 2nd grade classroom
3rd grade and 4th grade at 4th grade classroom
5th grade and up at 5th grade classroom
K1, K2, K3 and bilingual: reading
1st and 2nd grade: story telling (memorization of class material disqualified)
3rd grade and up: speech (memorization of class material or story telling disqualified)
Three winners and one honorable mentioned would be chosen in each class. Two additional honorable mentioned will be awarded if there are more than ten contestants in a class.

慈濟園地 Tzu Chi Activities:
• 佛教慈濟基金會波士頓聯絡處誠摯地邀請您出席「大愛無疆界:南非祖魯族婦女生命蛻變的美麗篇章」茶會。 此茶會主要在敘述一位企業家帶領數千祖魯族婦女走出貧困的故事。這些祖魯婦女，不但透過慈濟基金會成立的職業訓練中心而蛻變她們自己的生命，並在她們的社區奉獻自己，照顧孤兒及愛滋病患。在茶會中，您將有機緣會見兩位祖魯婦女Sheila-Gladys Ngema and Tolakele MariaMkhize，並聆聽他(她)們鼓舞人心的故事，分享他(她)們在南非每天生活狀況的錄影畫面。透過她們的故事，我們得以瞭解到，心靈富有的人，時時如處天堂；心靈匱乏者，再有錢也嫌不足。這群祖魯族菩薩雖然生活很苦、很窮，但在慈濟愛的引導下，已有超過五千人參加助人的行列，開拓自我生命能量，成為心靈富有的活菩薩。

Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, Boston Service Center cordially invite you to the seminar “Love Without Borders: Empowering Zulu Women in South Africa” that will be conducted on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 6:30pm at the Tzu Chi Boston Service Center at 15 Summer street, Newton, MA 02464. Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation is conducting a nationwide tour of the seminar “Love Without Borders: Empowering Zulu Women in South Africa” from end of February to mid-March. To kick-off this tour, part of the seminar will be presented at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women panel workshop sponsored by Tzu Chi on February 22.
This seminar features stories of a businessman who has led thousands of Zulu women to escape poverty. These Zulu women not only transformed their own lives through hundreds of career training centers established by Tzu Chi, they have also been devoting themselves in caring for orphans and AIDS patients in their communities. At the seminar, the attendees will meet with two Zulu women, and listen to their inspirational stories as well as watch videos of their daily life in South Africa. Through their stories, we realize that simple and frugal living does not mean living in poverty; by the same token, the ones with money may not be considered rich. One should choose to be a useful person, and actively participate in work that benefits others and society, then he or she becomes an enriched person. 學校的圖書館有許多新書，是由許多家長捐贈而來，希望家長們能夠踴躍參閱。如有好書想與大家分享，非常歡迎您將書籍送至圖書館，館長將非常樂意的把這些甜美的精神糧食介紹給大家。
家長園地建議大家來組一個讀書會。大家可將讀過的書籍簡單地介紹給其他家長。這樣不但可以減少許多搜尋好書的時間，也可省下許多金錢哦。
各位爸爸媽媽們，希望我們這股讀書風也能感染到其他小朋友，來養成美好的讀書風氣。讓我們一起來共同築成這個目標吧！

Dear parents, the winter recess is coming to end. Please remind your child(ren) to prepare for the Chinese lesson on this Sunday. Many new books have recently been donated by our parents to our school library. We hope all of you will take advantage of these added resources to enrich Chinese learning experience. If you have books to share with others, please contact school library directly. We are also thinking about organizing a reading club so that our parents can share and grow their reading interests and knowledge. Hopefully, such activities can catalyze our student’s interest in reading as well.
