通訊 ─ 2011年4月10日

親愛的家長、老師與同學們 Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:

學校將於本月二十四日舉辦送愛給南非的活動。活動的內容可能是下列其中之一項：(1)請大家捐贈文具(鉛筆橡皮擦)及英文書籍(幼稚園程度)來幫助南非小朋友學習；或是(2)響應"五元的力量"募款，幫助南非愛滋病患。學校決定後，將在近日內(春假期間)進一步通知。

On the April 24th, school will hold a send love to South Africa drive, The subjective of the drive cold be one of the following: (1) Donate basic school supplies and books.  We encourage everyone to donate simple stationery (pencil and eraser preferred) and English books (kindergarten level only) to help them learn.  (2) Pledge power of five; commitment ($5 per month) to help AIDS patients in South Africa.   

為了鼓勵家長加入學校的教學團隊及提升教師福利，下學年度學校將開始提供教師子女學費減免，詳情請恰教務主任(金滿)或其他校務人員。

To encourage parents to join school teaching staff and further promote teacher’s welfare, next school year school will begin to offer significant tuition discount to teacher’s children.  Please ask Sister Vickie or other school personnel for the details.

校園花絮 –四月份行事曆 April Highlights:

  • 4/10-正常上課日。舞蹈课因老師有事暫停一次。
Regular school day.   The dance class is cancelled this week due to teacher's schedule conflict.

  • 4/17-春假停課。
There will be no school due to Spring Recess. 

  • 4/24-正常上課日。課外活動暫停一次。
Regular school day.   No extracurricular class.

佛教慈濟基金會二○一一年紐約分會二十週年慶園遊會

The Tzu Chi New York Branch 20th Anniversary Celebration 

行程如下:

  • 二O一一年四月十六日早晨六時由波士頓會所出發,
  • 下午三時自紐約回程, 約七時抵波士頓會所.
  • 巴士將由慈濟波士頓聯絡處籌備.
The schedule is as below:

  • Departure: 6AM, April 16 from Boston Service Center (15 Summer Street, Newton MA 02464)
  • Return: around 3PM , April 16 from NY (arrive Boston Service Center 7PM)
  • Bus, food, beverage will be arranged by Tzu Chi Boston Service Center.

·    非常感謝上週由藍淑錦老師和Yumei與大家分享編織方面各種技巧，讓在場對編織有興趣的家長一一分享到，棒針或鈎針編織方法，及各項圍巾手套毛衣等作品作法。帶給大家對編織有著更多不同的樂趣，實在獲益良多。
也要謝謝其他家長們，共同的參與。
Many thanks to Instructor藍淑錦and Yumei for sharing with everyone knitting techniques, so the parents who were interested could learn about knitting and crocheting, and the patterns and methods for making various scarfs, mittens and sweaters.  They brought into view many different fun aspects about knitting, and everybody benefited.

We also want to thank all the other parents that participated.

上週家長咖啡時間, 感謝EMILY和GEORGE夫妻為大家準備的香濃咖啡, 也感謝其他熱心提供各色點心的家長們. 因為大家的支持和加入, 使家長咖啡時間更溫馨更豐富了. 家長咖啡時間是為了所有家長們規劃出來的交流園地, 歡迎任何主題想與大家分享或討論的家長們, 都可發起屬於自己的家長咖啡時間. 有意者請隨時洽EMILY或美玲. 

Many thanks to Emily and George preparing delicious coffee and snacks for last week’s Parent Coffee Time, and thanks to all the parents and sisters and brothers that provided different snacks. It is everybody’s support and participation that makes our Parent Coffee Time so heart-warming and special.  Parent Coffee time is a communication channel for all parents. Any parent who wants to share or discuss a topic can start a new Parent Coffee Time. Anyone interested please contact Emily or Meiling.

未來在家長咖啡時間內，我們還會陸續安排專業的演出, 敬請大家期待。

  • 四月底復活節撿蛋活動已在密集企劃中，有意參加的家長和小朋友們， 請逕洽美玲聯絡活動細節。
We are planning for an Easter egg hunt event.  Please contact Meiling if you are interested in helping and participating.

  • 明年，從一年級起，語文課將統一使用美洲華語教材，有些家長提議在暑假前拿到課本以便小孩利用暑假預習，如有此意願的家長請在5/22前至註冊組註冊繳清學費(至少半年) ， 校方將統計數量先行訂購。
School will adopt new textbooks edited by mzchinese.org next school year.   If students and parents are interested in review the new textbooks during the summer vacation, please register and pay at least one semester tuition by 5/22.   School will make advance order and ensure earlier delivery by the end of this semester.
