Master Cheng Yen’s Teaching and Jing-Si Aphorisms:

• If we can treat others’ successes as our achievement, we have truly the mind of a Bodhisattva.

• Acrimony and resentment only make our lives miserable, which is the more frequent mistake we ever make.

• Not committing crime is our most basic responsibility. However, having a good heart without doing good deeds is also futile.

• Being able to treat other well under normal circumstances is not difficult. However, it takes real effort when one is able to treat others well in adverse circumstances.

• In dealing with interpersonal relationship, the key is to focus on our determination and conviction but not our ambition.

• Life is like walking on a tight rope. If one does not carefully look ahead but keeps looking backwards, one will surely fall.
