近來天氣逐漸轉涼，日照時間也逐漸減短，除提醒大家注意行車走路的安全，也請大家要注意身體保健及準時上課的重要。
重點提醒:
• 十月三十日第三堂學校將在體育館舉辦萬聖節親子同樂會(請參考附件)，希望所有的家長與老師們都能歡喜參與和您的子女學生們共同享受一段輕鬆愉快的時刻，另外也歡迎家長們協助提供部份文具做為獎品(像一般鉛筆，有色鉛筆，臘筆，馬克筆，橡皮擦，安全剪刀，筆記本，黏膠等等)，有意捐贈者請帶至學校餐廳。感恩您!
• 由於萬聖節親子同樂會準備作業，十月三十日當天體育館將不對外開放。
• 十一月十九日本校部份家長、老師與同學們將代表波士頓慈濟人文學校參與慈濟基金會中國城養老院探訪活動。這是今年學校為加強人文道德教育，以身教代言教的一系列社區服務活動。我們非常感恩家長、老師與同學們在百忙之中的熱心配合，也期許同學們能體會到「老吾老以及人之老」的意義。有興趣的家長和老師請與林毓雅師兄聯繫(tatabox2@gmail.com)。感恩您!

• 為慶祝中華民國建國百年，新英格蘭中文學校協會特別於十一月五日星期六下午一時至五時在牛頓市僑教中心舉行舉辦漢字文化節學藝競賽活動，詳情請參考附件，有興趣報名的家長、老師與同學們請與校務人員洽詢。
慈濟園地:
• 波士頓慈濟將於十月二十九日(8:50AM~4:20PM)在紐頓市會所(15 Summer street)舉辦志工研習，主題是教育志業，歡迎人文學校老師家長與志工們參加。慈濟將會提供參加人員素食午膳。
家長園地:
• 請尚未完成報名註冊手續的家長們儘速向註冊組淑蓉師姐辦理。另外根據去年規定，學校會提供學生一件免費制服。因此，今年的新生或從未領過制服的舊生，請向註冊組領取制服；如果是舊生，且已在去年領過制服但需更新者，每件請購價為$10.
• 由於與JGM的活動撞期，十二月十八日學校將無法使用餐廳和體育館，明年一月二十二日必須於十一時四十五分前騰出餐廳。學校對所造成不便向您說聲抱歉。感恩您的合作!
• 由於天氣漸冷，最近有些麻州的公立學校開始在流行頭蝨，請家長和老師們提醒同學們良好衛生習慣的重要，並注意同學們有無類似頭蝨的症狀。謝謝您!

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:
As the temperature is falling and daylight period is shrinking, we urge all of you to be mindful about the safety of driving and walking. We also want to remind you of the importance of healthy habits and punctuality for classes.
Reminders and Highlights:
• A Halloween celebration party will be held in the Gym on the third period on October 30 (see attachment). All parents and teachers are encouraged to enjoy a joyful time with their children and students. Parents are also welcome to donate school supplies (like pencils, markers, color pencils, small notepads, erasers, crayons, safe scissors and glue sticks) as rewards for the event as candy supplies is plenty. Please bring your donation to cafeteria. Thank you
• On 10/30, Gym will close to other activities to prepare the Halloween celebration party.
• On 11/19, some of TCAB parents, teachers, and students will join Tzu Chi Foundation’s visit to a Chinatown nursing home. This is one of the activities planned this year in the school’s humanity education initiatives. We appreciate the efforts made by our parents, teachers and students. If anyone is interested in the nursing home visit on 11/19, please contact Jeff Lin at tatabox2@gmail.com. Thank you
• The school is officially close at 12:30 PM. Please do not stay after school to interfere with the custodian’s preparation for Monday regular classes. Thank you for your cooperation.
Campus–October/November Highlights:
• 10/30 – October 30th is a regular school day but no extracurricular activities today. A Halloween celebration and parent children activities will take place instead.
• 11/06 – November 6th is a regular school day and extracurricular activities take place after class. Daylight saving end.
• 11/13 – November 13th is a regular school day and extracurricular activities take place after class. Midterm today.
• 11/20 – November 20th is a regular school day and extracurricular activities take place after class. Parent-teacher conference today.
• 11/27 – No class in observance of Thanksgiving holiday.
Teacher & Student Activities:
• All teachers, staff, and students should wear their uniforms. Whoever needs uniform please check with Sister Jennifer at school cafeteria ASAP.
• To celebrate the centennial of the Republic of China, the New England Association of Chinese School (NEACS) will sponsor competition events in Chinese Culture and Arts on November 5, Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Chinese Culture Center in Newton. Please check the attachment for details. If you are interested in participating in the competition, please contact our school staff.
• Parents or students please check the teacher’s blog on school web site for information if you have questions.
Tzu Chi Activities:
• Tzu Chi Boston Chapter will host a training camp in Newton office (15 Summer Street) on 10/29 8:50AM-4:30 PM. The camp is also open to all our teachers, parents, and volunteers who are interested in Tzu Chi’s education mission. Vegetarian lunch will be provided to all participants.
Parents Activities:
• For those who have not registered, please complete the registration with Jennifer Ying. Last year, we gave away a uniform per student. This year, we will still give away uniforms to new students or returning students who did not receive a uniform last year. Please ask for one from Jennifer Ying. If a returning student who received the uniform last year, but needs a new one this year, please purchase at $10 per uniform.
• Due to scheduled events at JGM, we will have no access to the cafeteria and gym on 12/18/11 while have to vacate from the cafeteria by 11:45 PM on 1/22/12. We still have access to all the regular classrooms. We apology for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
• Temperature is falling and head lice are coming. Students in some Massachusetts public schools have recently been found to infect with head lice. Parents and teachers please remind students of the importance of personal hygiene and check the students for head lice periodically. Thank you
