通訊 ─ 2012年10月14日

親愛的家長、老師與同學們:

靜思語:「要感恩幫助我們的人,也要感恩接受我們幫助的人。」

相信老師們都吃到了,市面上買不到的珍貴手工月餅,雖然只是一點點小小的心意,但是在漸漸式微的傳統倫常中,這是慈濟想要表達尊師重道的心意,除了要感謝老師們的辛勞,同時也要在這裡感恩,香積師兄姊們、還有一起共襄盛舉的家長、老師們。

另外,慈濟基金會也將以行動來闡揚傳統倫常中的孝道,由於現代人對孝道觀念已逐漸模糊, 證嚴上人希望大家重新正視孝道,於十月二十七日慈濟將在「紐約大學皇后學院科登表演中心演出”父母恩重難報經”音樂劇」,希望藉由這部孝道經典的演譯,啟發更多人的孝心與善念。歡迎您前往紐約親身感受經藏的洗禮,想知道更詳細內容與購票事宜,請洽詢學校祕書謝蕙如師姊:919-480-3998!

最後,秋季漸近尾聲,冬季即將來臨,請大家注意身體的保暖,因為照顧好自己的身體,不使父母擔憂,也是孝道的表現,還有,我們有溫暖的衣服、美味的食物、擋風遮雨的家,都要感恩! 行有餘力能夠幫助別人的同時,也不忘感恩願意接受我們幫助的人哦!

重點提醒:

• 慈濟基金會波士頓聯絡處將於十月十三日早上十一時三十分在紐頓市會所舉辦社區素烤聯誼 + potluck活動。歡迎大家告訴大家!
• 請大家使用靠餐廳與體育館旁的 大門進出。學生必須在家長或老師陪同下方能離開校區。

校園花絮十月份行事曆

• 10/14 -正常上課日。第三堂課課外活動。
• 10/21 -正常上課日。靜思語教學。課外活動暫停一次。
• 10/28 -正常上課日。萬聖節親子活動。

教師與學生園地:

• 為了維護學生安全,學生與老師志工應穿著制服。若發現可疑人員或物品, 請立刻通知校方人員處理。
• 老師們請家長將學生的作業妥善保存,以便將來成果展及呈現學生學習的成長過程。
慈濟園地:

• 慈濟基金會波士頓聯絡處將於十月十三日早上十一時三十分舉辦社區素烤聯誼 + potluck活動,地點:慈濟基金會波士頓聯絡處 (15 Summer Street, Newton, MA 02464 617-762-0569)。素烤食材由基金會準備,potluck則歡迎個人攜帶喜愛的食物或甜點 (素),學校聯絡窗口: 何淑蓉 603-380-3715 或 jying332003@yahoo.com。

Tzu-Chi Academy, Boston

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:

We hope our teachers all enjoy the moon cakes made by Tzu Chi sisters. Tzu Chi sisters, parents, and staff spent several days of hard work making the cake with vegetarian ingredients to express the gratitude and respect our teachers deserve. We appreciate their great efforts.
Additionally, Tzu Chi Foundation will host a musical on 10/27 at Queens College in New York. The musical is to remind us of filial piety, our responsibility to our elders. Tickets are on sale now, for more details, please contact school secretary - Sister Angela Hsieh at 919-480-3998.
Finally, as the fall draw to a close, winter is not far away. Please pay attention to the changes of the weather and dress accordingly. Take care of our health and safety so that our parents have no need to worry. With the holiday spirit, please help those in need and remember appreciating the people who accept our help!

Reminders and Highlights:

• Please only enter the school building through the doors close the Cafeteria and the Gym.
• Student is not allowed to venture out of the school building without supervision of teachers or parents.

Campus–October Highlights:

• 10/14 – October 14th is a regular school day. Extracurricular activities will take place after regular class.
• 10/21 – October 21st is a regular school day with Jing Si Aphorism class. No extracurricular activities.
• 10/28 – October 28th is a regular school day. Halloween Parent child activity.

Teacher & Student Activities:

• Students, teachers, and volunteers should wear their uniforms to ensure security. Please contact school staff if you find anything or anyone suspicious.
• Teachers please keep student works for future exhibition and as milestone of progress.

Tzu Chi Events:

• Tzu Chi Boston will host a vegetarian BBQ/potluck on 10/13 11:30 AM at its office at Newton (15 Summer Street, Newton, MA 02464 617-762-0569). Tzu Chi Boston will prepare the material for the BBQ. All participants are also welcome to bring their favor dishes or desserts. Please contact Jennifer Ying at 603-380-3715 or jying332003@yahoo.com for details.

Parents Activities:

• We are delighted that Mr. Simon Lin, Ms. Su-Yuan Liao, and Ms. Wendy Ong to join the academy as 2013 parent representatives effective immediately. They will participate in school operation and serve as additional channel for our parents. The term of the parent representative will be one year. Thank you!
• Parents and students are encouraged to take advantage of the teacher’s blog. In addition to class material, there are also many reference material, audio, and video information worth checking.
• We regretfully announce that the percussion class has been cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. There will be no more Percussion class. However, we will have Boston Tzu Chi Academy Youth Ensemble led by Dr. Chi-Sun Chan. The audition is scheduled on 10/14 at room A214 from 11:30 AM. • To enable our extracurricular teachers to concentrate on teaching their students, school request assistance from the parents of those students in the class.
