Communications –November 11, 2012
Tzu-Chi Academy, Boston
Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:
"Climate Change" has been suspected to be the major cause led to many recent natural disasters. The human factor has contributed significantly if not solely to the climate change based on numerous scientific evidences and observations. However, we also suspect the conflicts among the nations and greed, anger, and idiocy of our mankind only worsen the situation and prevent solutions from being implemented. We believe we can counter this manmade catastrophe by purifying our thoughts and promoting compassion and love to others. We should also always be thankful and respectful to others so that the world can become a safer place.
The second parent gathering will be held in conjunction with our Humanitarian Lecture series in school cafeteria this Sunday. The topic of the lecture is “how to cultivate an emotionally stable child!” Parents are strongly encouraged to share their experience with the other participants!

Master Cheng Yen’s Teaching and Jing-Si Aphorisms:
• To begin is easy, to persist, difficult. Talking about truth without practicing it leads neither to enlightenment nor realizing the Dharma.
• Having gratitude can help us dissolve our inner afflictions and waken our compassion.
• If we work with a joyful heart, no matter how tiring and demanding the task is, we will be rewarded with a sense of bliss and joy.
• Good actions require everyone’s cooperation, so let’s not cling to personal biases.
