Communications –November 4, 2012
Tzu-Chi Academy, Boston
Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:
In Tzu Chi, "Truth-Kindness-Beauty" is not just a descriptive term, is really people in action! The innocence of our children makes them like a spotless mirror that will reflect any education they have received. Therefore, it is extremely important for parents, teachers and school to provide them with good role models. The children in Malaysia's Da-Ai kindergarten heard from their teachers that many children at their ages are starving around the world. They decided to do something about it by saving part of their snack "having two instead three biscuits each time” so that they could save a box of cookie every month to share with those children in need. This is exactly the education all Tzu Chi Academy strive to offer! To guide our children through their compassion; To empower our children through helping others.
With the generosity and help of our parents and teachers last Sunday, our children enjoyed a joyful Trick-Or-Treat event at school! However, we should not forget those in dire needs after the wrath of Hurricane Sandy. If you like to help, or need help, or know someone in need, please contact our school staff or any Tzu Chi members. Master Cheng Yen’s Teaching and Jing-Si Aphorisms:
• Life is like walking on a tightrope. Walk straight ahead and, concentrate on, what’s in front of us;, to keep looking back, does us no good.
• Be clear and complete when you talk and listen. Do not pick one sentence here, and one sentence there;, or you may by accident intensely hurt someone.
• If we are spiritually rich and fulfilled, we will be happy, even if materialistically, our life is, basic and simple.
• If we don’t do something meaningful, our life will pass by in vain. But if we work unceasingly for the betterment of mankind, ours will be a beautiful life.
