校園花絮 – 一月份行事曆January Highlights:
• 1/3–正常上課日。第三堂課課外活動。
January 3rd is a regular school day. Extracurriculars will be held after class.
• 1/10–12/20補課日。靜思語教學。課外活動暫停。
January 10th will be a makeup day for the classes canceled 12/20 due to snow. Jing-Si Aphorisms lessons will be held after class that day.will be a regular school day. Extracurriculars will be held after class.
• 1/17 – 馬丁路德金博士紀念日停課一次。
There will be no class on January 17th due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Happy Holidays everyone!

• 1/30–正常上課日。第二堂課演講說故事比賽。第三堂課課外活動。
January 30th will be a regular school day. The Chinese speech/story-telling contest will be held during 2nd period. Extracurriculars will be held after class.
• 如果有暴風雪來襲，路況不適或積雪超過六英吋，學校將會於周日早上七時半前以電話和電子郵件 通知停課。請家長在早上8:30或出門前注意學校送出之郵電通知，如仍有疑問，請與各班老師電話聯繫，或電617-492-8499/ 781-559-3190詢問。
Weather information and cancellation policy: If the expected snowfall of a snowstorm exceeds six inches in the Bedford area or the weather conditions are deemed unsafe for travel, the school will contact students and their families through both phone calls and email before 7:30 am on Sunday. Please check either your email or voice mail by 8:30 AM. If you are still unsure, please contact your child’s teacher or you can reach us at these numbers: 617-492-8499 781-559-3190. We ask everyone to be safe and warm this holiday season.
• 學校會在1/10 第三堂課舉辦全校靜思語教學，此次教學主題將針對送文具到海地活動作教學， 也請家長鼓勵同學將家裡多餘之文具（用過或全新的）於當天捐贈出來，學校收集後統一寄出。感恩您!
There will be a Jing-Si Aphorisms lesson on 1/10/10. The focus of the lesson will be to raise awareness about the School Supplies Drive for Kids in Haiti. Please encourage your children to donate their excess school supplies (new or used) to the drive. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you.
學生園地 Student Activities:
• 本學年的校內學生演講說故事比賽預定在二零一零年一月三十日舉行，優勝同學將可代表學校參加新英格蘭(四月初)與美東區(五月底)的競賽喔。如果同學們有需要協助修訂講稿或糾正語音，請向副校長或教務主任或其他校務人員查詢。如果有老師家長願意協助修訂講稿或糾正語音，也請聯絡副校長或教務主任或其他校務人員。感恩您!
The student speech/story-telling competition will be held in January 2010. The winners will represent our school at the New England and American East Chinese School Association competitions that are held in April and May respectively. We are looking for volunteers to helping the winners in preparation for the competition. Protecting and respecting the environment should be a priority for everyone. We are facing an environmental crisis that is the result of the depletion of natural resources and accumulation of the industrial waste and consumer trash. Let’s all do our best to be mindful of how we treat the earth and its resources. It is important to act now and save our resources, future posterity, and ultimately our planet.
• 一般人往往以財富、權勢、學歷來判定他人，輕視身分地位比自己低的人。其實，名利權位虛幻無常，都不是生命真正的價值。我們應該以平等心來對待每個人，以真誠的愛心來廣結善緣，這才是有智 慧的人生。
Some tend to judge the others by their wealth, education, or social status and despise those who they believe to be inferior to them. What they do not realize is that that power, fame, and wealth will not last, and only wisdom and love the true value of our life. Those who have wisdom always treat others with love.

In preparation for the Chinese New Year Celebration (2/7/2010!), we are looking for parent volunteers to help set up game booths and supply food and drinks. Your contributions and support are important to the success of this exciting event. Please contact Jeff Lin if you are interested in volunteering. We are looking for help in the following categories:
o Game Booths (at least 5 volunteers)
o Food contribution (at least 8 volunteers)
