二月十四日是農曆新年，家長與校方人員合力於二月七日舉辦春節聯歡活動。除了精彩表演外，還有美味點心和遊戲。剛成立的波士頓慈少也將贊助一個攤位為海地災民募款。感謝您的參加!
February 14 is the Lunar New Year. Parent volunteers and school staff will hold a Lunar New Year Celebration on 2/7 (please see attachment for program detail). In addition to excellent performances, many delicious snacks and fun games will be provided. The newly founded Boston Tzu-Shao group will also host a booth to raise funds for Haiti’s earthquake victims. Thank you!
校園花絮 – 二月份行事曆January February Highlights:
• 2/7 –春節聯歡。請老師同學與志工們當天盡量穿著制服，學校計畫拍攝一段春節拜年短片，非常感謝您的配合。
Chinese New Year Celebration today! Teachers, students, and volunteers, please wear your uniform to the celebration on February 7th. The school plans to make a brief video clip of the New Years Prayer for publication. Thank you for your cooperation.
• 2/14 –寒假停課一次。農曆新年
No class today due to winter recess. Lunar New Year.
• 2/21 - 第二堂課演講說故事比賽 。第三堂課靜思語教學。
There will be Speech and Story-telling competitions today from 10:20-11:30 AM. Jing-Si Aphorisms lessons will take place after the competition.
• 2/28 - 正常上課日。第三堂課課外活動。繪畫壁報比賽延至三月七日。
February 28th will be a regular school day. Extracurricular activities will take place after class. The Drawing/Poster competition has been postponed to 3/7.

三年級以上演講比賽
演講說故事比賽的評分標準是：發音30% 語調30% 內容25% 儀態15%。請家長協助孩子準備說故事及演講
內容，如需協助請聯絡老師或校方人員。
The student Speech/Story-telling competition will take place on February 21, 2010 in three categories.
Kindergartner and Bilingual Junior class: Reading (Children’s folk songs) Competition
1st Grade and 2nd Grade: Story Telling Competition
3rd Grade and above: Speech Competition
The contestants will be judged according to the following criteria: pronunciation 30%, tones 30%, content 25%, and appearance 15%. Parents are encouraged to help students prepare the contents of their speech or story. Should you need assistance, please feel free to contact teachers or school staff.
• 繪畫壁報比賽延至三月七日，比賽主題將於近日透過電子郵件公佈。優勝同學將可代表學校參加五月底美東區中文學校壁報競賽。
The poster/drawing competition has been postponed to 3/7. The topic will be published soon through email notification. The winners can attend the American-East regional Chinese schools poster competition at the end of May.
• 同學若想要變更下學期課外活動，請填寫課外活動變更表格一份(如附件) ，於二月二十一日交給校方人員核備。
Students, who wish to change their extracurricular class (EC) for the new semester, please fill out the attached form and give to school staff. The deadline for EC class transfer is 2/21.
• 波士頓慈濟慈少已正式成立，第一次聚會於元月三十日晚上六時至八時在慈濟牛頓會所舉行。有興趣的同學請與校方或慈濟聯繫。若想對慈少有更進一步了解，請向校方詢問或參考下列網址:

The Tzu-Shao group of Boston Tzu Chi has officially been established. The 1st Tzu Sao event was held at Tzu Chi office in Newton on 1/30 6-8PM. • 人會迷失，是因心有貪念，其實衣食住行適用就好，簡單而踏實地生活，人生自會平安幸福。
People lost their way because of greed. Life will be filled with peace and joy as long as you keep it simple and steadfast.
• 當今社會人心混亂，不能等到自修有成才做事，必須把握時間去做淨化人心的工作。
People today are constantly confused by propaganda and misinformation. We should set out to counter those improper influences and to enlighten people’s mind instead of pursuing our own salvation ony.
• 期待人人「慎勿放逸」，及時把握健康、能自主的時刻，淨化自心，發揮利益人群的良能。
Everyone should keep vigilant from those undue influences and apply their times and efforts to benefit the humankind when their health still allows it.

Tzu Chi Boston chapter plans to hold a Chinese New Year Celebration at the John Glenn Middle School in Bedford, MA. A “New Year: A Fresh Mind & New Life” exhibition will show you how to incorporate environmental consciousness into your daily life. Tea and light refreshment will be served after the program. All parents, teachers, students and their friends are invited to join us for the celebration.

• 惜福站 XiFu Station
o 成人太極班家長學員因事不克繼續課程，已購買之課程欲出讓。 自二月開始至六月結業, 上課時間每週日早上10點至11點，仍餘15堂課程, 希以30元金額出讓。轉讓金額也將悉數捐予惜福站. 請有意家長直接洽惜福站詢問相關訊息。
One member in the Adult Tai Chi Class cannot continue with the lessons and would like to offer the remaining class credits for sale. The remaining 15 classes lasts from the beginning of February to the end of school year in June, from 10am to 11am every Sunday morning. The member would like to ask for $30 for the credit transfer. The money received from the transaction will be donated to the XiFu Station. Interested parties please contact XiFu Station personnel directly for details.
