親愛的家長，老師與同學們Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students:
數位波士頓慈濟的師兄師姐們這星期將到海地參與為期十天的賑災工作，我們對他們愛心與奉獻衷心敬佩。
Several Boston Tzu-Chi members travelled this week to Haiti to participate the ten-day humanitarian effort organized by Tzu-Chi Foundation. We admire their selfless love and devotion.
校園花絮 – 三 月份行事曆 February Highlights:
• 3/7 - 正常上課日。第三堂課課外活動。由於比賽規則改變，繪畫壁報比賽延至三月二十八日。
March 7th will be a regular school day. Extracurricular activities will take place after class. Due to rule change, the Drawing/Poster competition has been further postponed to 3/28.
• 3/14 - 正常上課日。第三堂課課外活動。這星期開始日光節約時間。
March 14th will be a regular school day. Extracurricular activities will take place after class. Daylight saving begins the week.
• 3/21 - 正常上課日。靜思語教學。課外活動暫停。
March 21st will be a regular school day. No extracurricular and Jing-Si Aphorisms lessons will be held after class instead.
• 3/28 - 正常上課日。第三堂課課外活動。繪畫壁報比賽。
March 28th will be a regular school day. Extracurricular activities will take place after class. The Drawing/Poster competition is today.
學生園地 Student Activities:
• 本學年的校內學生演講說故事與朗誦比賽已於二零一零年二月二十一日舉行完畢。優勝同學有興趣參加四月十日新英格蘭區中文學校演講比賽 (三、四年級組，五、六年級組，和七年級以上組) ，請盡快與校方人員聯繫。
The speech/story-telling competition was completed on 2/21. Students who are interested in competing in New England on 4/10 (3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, and 7&above grade), please contact school staff for detail ASAP.
• 新英格蘭區中文學校中文聽打比賽將於四月十日舉行，有興趣同學請盡快與校方人員聯繫。
New England Chinese School Chinese typing competition will be held on 4/10. Students interested in competing please contact school staff for detail ASAP.
• 繪畫壁報比賽延至三月二十八日，比賽主題將於近日透過電子郵件公佈。優勝同學將可代表學校參加五月底美東區中文學校壁報競賽。
The poster/drawing competition has been postponed to 3/14. The topic will be published soon through email notification. The winners can attend the American-East regional Chinese schools poster competition at the end of May.
• 《美國慈濟世界》季刊是屬於全美慈濟人的刊物，專欄「學生園地」，非常希望全美慈濟人文學校都能提供學生作品，有興趣老師同學請於3月18日之前將作品交給校方人員。
Tzu Chi US is a quarterly magazine for Tzu-Chi US members. One of the magazine sections is specifically allocated for all students in Tzu Chi Academy. Students and teachers, who are interested in submitting manuscripts, please contact school staff by 3/18. Thank you.
證嚴上人的叮嚀與靜思語 Master Cheng Yen’s Teaching and Jing-Si Aphorisms:
• 當人誇讚時，不覺得高興，只認為是應該做的；而受人辱罵時，也不會生氣。如此不起心動念、不動不靜，就是『平常心』。
Do not feel overjoyed when others flatter you and do not feel angry when others offend you. Only after we are immune to those outside influences, we can attain a sense of normalcy.
• 以『布施』轉慳貪；以『慈悲』轉瞋恨；以『智慧』轉愚癡。
Giving can counter greed; compassion can counter hate; and wisdom can counter ignorance.
• 若無苦難，怎能覺悟人生是苦而要求解脫？所有苦難，都是使我們慧命增長的道糧。
We can only realize the true meaning of life after we went through bitter sufferings. All the sufferings are the essential ingredients to grow our wisdom and compassion.
• 人我是非，就是修行。若無人我是非，如何磨鍊出修養？
Dealing with conflicts and disagreements is always part of life. It allows us to nurture our mind and enhance our sophistication.
愛心家長園地 Parent Activities and Volunteer News:
• 成人中文閱讀班本周日11：30AM在六年級教室開課。現在還有四個名額，歡迎大家踴躍參加。
The Adult free Chinese lesson is going to start this Sunday at 11:30AM in the six-grade class room。 There are only four openings left. All are welcome.
